Stuffed Toys in DT
In the Autumn term, Class 5 made stuffed toys as part of their Design and Technology lessons. Children created and drew their own designs and decided on their own appendages for the finer details. Once a template was created, the children could cut the material to size and begin to piece their toy together. The sewing skills were amazing as the children progressed from a running stitch to a blanket stitch to create a more decorative and secure join. Finally, they made their designs come to life by stuffing them with polyester filling. This was a very enjoyable DT topic. I hope the children were proud to share their finished toys at home.
