Although bullying does take place face to face it can also take place on the internet. The amount and types of cyber bullying has greatly increased and parents and children need to be aware of how to stay safe when using the internet. The Internet Matters website has been designed to give parents advice and information about online safety.
This week 17th – 21st November is the National Anti-Bullying Week. The Anti Bullying Alliance was set up ten years ago to support schools in spreading the message that all forms of bullying must be stopped. We will be carrying out activities in our school to promote this year’s theme which is to STOP BULLYING FOR ALL! The aim of this year’s theme is to raise awareness of the bullying of children with disabilities and special needs.Bullying of all children is clearly unacceptable, however, evidence shows that:
- Children with special educational needs are twice as likely to suffer from persistent bullying
It is essential that we all spread the message Stop Bullying For All as loudly as possible and ensure that the children speak up against bullying.
